Get matched / request quotes
Tell us about the project. We store your request securely and use it to match you with contractors on HomeProFax. We do not send or sell your lead anywhere today — this form is for matching on HomeProFax only, and we'll tell you before that ever changes.
How HomeProFax matching works
- Tell us the job. Trade, city and a few lines about the project, with your name and email.
- We store it and confirm. Your request is saved in HomeProFax's database and we email you a confirmation.
- A person reviews it. Matching is done by hand today, not by an algorithm. We look at contractors on HomeProFax in your trade and area.
- We apply the matching standard. Only contractors that meet every test below are considered.
- We follow up with you. We email you about your request. Any contractor we point you to comes with their HomeProFax report, so you can read the record before you decide to contact them.
Which contractors qualify
A contractor can be matched only if their HomeProFax profile shows all of these:
- An active license in the contractor's own state on the board record we hold (or, in Colorado, a city contractor license), not expired, inactive or only "reported". A license from another state does not count.
- No board discipline flag on any license we hold.
- A HomeProFax score of 80 or higher. An active license with a clean record scores 63 to 73 on its own (depending on whether the board publishes discipline), so 80+ in practice means a permit history or a strong BBB record on top of that (how the score works).
- A complete public profile that is not hidden from search for missing or junk data.
Today 21,473 of 501,894 profiles meet that standard. A high score is a summary of public records, not a promise about workmanship, so still get written quotes, check insurance and confirm the license with the board.
Coverage by state
Contractors who meet the matching standard today, by state. Colorado comes first because it is where our local records are deepest. Where the count is small, we may not find a match in your trade and city, and we will tell you so.
| State | Profiles | Meet the matching standard |
|---|---|---|
| Colorado | 68,075 | 348 |
| California | 228,992 | 21,080 |
| New York | 1,877 | 43 |
| Texas | 168,090 | 2 |
Counts as of October 24, 2026, computed from published profiles. States not listed have no profiles that meet the standard yet.
What happens to your information
- Free for homeowners. No fee, no card, no account.
- Stored, not sold. Your trade, city, project details, name, email and optional phone are stored in HomeProFax's database for matching and follow-up about this request only.
- Not shared today. No contractor or third party receives your details at this stage, and we will tell you before that ever changes.
- Keep it simple. Do not include financial or health information in the project details.
Why every match comes with a HomeProFax report
A quote tells you the price. A HomeProFax report tells you who is behind it: the license line with issuer, status and expiry, permits the contractor has pulled, any board discipline, and business registration where we have confirmed it. Reading it first turns "they seemed nice" into a checkable record.
The same shortcut works for any contractor, matched or not: ask for their verified HomeProFax report. See a sample HomeProFax report →
Frequently asked questions
Is HomeProFax matching free?
Yes. Matching is free for homeowners, and contractors do not pay HomeProFax to be matched today.
Who will see my request?
Only HomeProFax. Your request is stored in our database for matching and follow-up. We do not send or sell it to contractors or any third party today, and we will tell you before that ever changes.
Which contractors can be matched?
Only contractors whose HomeProFax profile shows an active license in their own state, no board discipline flag and a HomeProFax score of 80 or higher. Today 21,473 profiles meet that standard, 348 of them in Colorado.
Is matching automated?
Not yet. A person at HomeProFax reviews each request against HomeProFax profiles using the published standard. No algorithm contacts contractors on your behalf.
Does submitting the form book a contractor?
No. It does not book anyone or guarantee quotes. It starts a review of your request, and we follow up with you by email.
Why should a matched contractor have a HomeProFax report?
Because you can read it before you call: license status and expiry, permit history, discipline flags and business registration, each linked to its public source. It is the same check we recommend for any hire: ask the contractor for their verified HomeProFax report.
