HomeProFax Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026 · Last updated October 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Repdigi LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company doing business as HomeProFax (“HomeProFax,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use homeprofax.com and related services (the “Service”). It covers homeowners and visitors, people who ask to be matched with contractors, and contractors whose public-record profiles appear on the Service. By using the Service you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Use.
Summary
- Contractor reports are built from public records, such as state licensing boards, city license lists and building permits. Each report names its sources.
- If you use Get matched, we share your request and contact details only with the contractors you select. You can pick up to five.
- We do not sell your request or your personal information, and we do not share it with other contractors for marketing.
- Calls and texts happen only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. You can opt out (see Cookies and analytics).
Who we are
The Service is operated by Repdigi LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company doing business as HomeProFax, 17115 Grenache Court, Cornelius, NC 28031. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@homeprofax.com or (866) 776-3291.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Get matched requests: the service you need, project type, timeline, optional budget and description, your city or ZIP code, your name, email address and phone number, your preferred contact method, the contractors you select, and the consent you give (including the exact wording and time).
- Quote and contact forms: similar project and contact details submitted through other request forms on the Service.
- Contractor claims and profile updates: your name, role, business name, email, phone, license number, verification contact, and profile details you choose to add (for example website, service areas, insurance carrier, photos and descriptions).
- Reviews, corrections and disputes: the content you submit and the contact details you provide so we can follow up.
- Sign-ups and messages: your contact details and anything you write to us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type and referring page, collected through Google Analytics and our hosting provider’s logs.
- IP address: used briefly to prevent abuse (for example rate limiting). For Get matched requests we store only a one-way, salted hash of the IP address, never the address itself.
- Funnel events: when you use Get matched, we record anonymous events such as “step viewed” or “request submitted,” with the service type and number of pros selected. These events do not include your name, email or phone.
Information from public sources
We collect business and licensing information about contractors from government and other public sources. See Contractor profiles and public records.
How we use information
- To provide the Service: building and displaying contractor reports, ranking pros by HomeProFax score, and processing your requests.
- To deliver your Get matched request to the contractors you selected and to let them contact you about your project.
- To verify contractor claims, approve profile updates and process corrections.
- To send transactional messages, such as confirmation codes, request confirmations and responses to your questions.
- To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to keep the Service secure.
- To understand and improve how the Service works, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.
Get matched requests
Get matched lets you compare quotes from contractors we list. It works in these steps:
- You tell us the service, location and project details.
- You give your name, email, phone and preferred contact method, and you agree that HomeProFax and the pros you choose on the next screen may contact you about this project.
- We show contractors with an active license on public record and no board discipline on file, sorted by HomeProFax score from highest to lowest. You choose up to five.
- When you tap the final button (for example “Contact these 3 pros”), the button and the text next to it name the exact contractors you chose. That tap is your confirmation and consent for those contractors. We record its wording and time.
If you leave after giving your contact details but before choosing pros, we may keep that partial request (marked “contact only”). We may use it to follow up with you once about the same project, and for the purposes in this policy. We do not send a partial request to any contractor.
Contractors are independent businesses. Once a contractor receives your request, they handle your information under their own privacy practices. Please ask them how they use it.
How we share information
- With the contractors you select. Only the contractors you choose in Get matched receive your request and contact details. We do not send it to contractors you did not select.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract, only to provide their services. This includes Cloudflare (hosting, content delivery, database, security and bot protection), Resend (sending email), and Google (Google Analytics).
- Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of HomeProFax, our users or the public.
- Business transfers: if Repdigi LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. It stays subject to the commitments in this policy.
- With your direction or consent.
Contractor profile information, which comes from public records and approved contractor updates, is published on the Service for anyone to see.
No selling of requests
HomeProFax does not sell your Get matched request or your personal information. We do not share it with other contractors, lead buyers or data brokers. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this ever changes, we will update this policy before it takes effect and ask for any consent the law requires.
Calls, texts and email
When you submit a Get matched request, you agree that HomeProFax and the contractors you select may contact you about that project. This may be by email, phone call or text message at the details you provided, including calls and texts that may use automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency depends on your project and the number of pros you choose.
You can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to any text message, tell the caller to stop calling, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or contact us at support@homeprofax.com or (866) 776-3291. If a contractor you selected keeps contacting you after you ask them to stop, please let us know. Opting out with HomeProFax does not automatically opt you out with a contractor who has already received your request; you may need to tell them directly as well. Reply HELP to a HomeProFax text for help.
We send transactional emails (such as verification codes and request confirmations) as part of the Service. We do not send marketing email without the permission the law requires.
Contractor profiles and public records
HomeProFax organizes public information about contractors so homeowners can check a business before hiring. Sources include state licensing boards (for example the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, the California Contractors State License Board and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation), city contractor license lists (for example Aurora, Arvada and Thornton, Colorado), building permit records published by cities and counties, business registries and other labeled research sources. Our Data sources page lists each dataset, the date of our copy and its terms. Our Methodology page explains how the HomeProFax score is calculated.
HomeProFax is not a consumer reporting agency, and our reports are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They may not be used for credit, insurance, employment, tenant screening or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. See our Disclaimer & corrections page.
Corrections and claims. If a record is wrong, outdated or matched to the wrong business, anyone can submit a correction. We check it against the original source and update or annotate the report. Contractors can claim their free profile. A claim requires email confirmation and admin approval. Once approved, the contractor can update contact details, service areas, insurance and photos, and request corrections. Claiming does not buy a better score. Scores change only when the underlying public-record factors or approved reviews change. We may decline to remove accurate public-record information, but we will consider requests to hold or annotate a record where there is a safety, identity or accuracy concern.
Cookies and analytics
We keep cookies to a minimum. The Service uses:
- Google Analytics (measurement ID G-M22SNDVPLB). It sets first-party cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*to count visits and understand how pages and the Get matched steps are used. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Google’s use of this data is described at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. - How you found us (
hpf_src). A first-party cookie that remembers, for 30 days, the campaign tags in the link you arrived from (such asutm_source), the referring site and your first page here. If you claim a contractor profile, we save it with your claim so we know which outreach is useful. It is not shared with anyone else. - Cloudflare security cookies. Our host may set strictly necessary cookies (such as
__cf_bmorcf_clearance) to detect bots and protect the site. If we enable Cloudflare Turnstile on forms, it may process device and interaction signals to tell people from bots.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks. The Service does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals. Where the law requires, we treat Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share data in that sense anyway.
How long we keep information
- Get matched requests, including partial “contact only” requests: up to 18 months from submission. After that we delete or de-identify the contact details. We keep consent records (wording, time and hashed IP) as long as needed to show consent was given, usually up to 5 years.
- Contractor claims and verification records: while the profile is claimed, and up to 3 years afterward.
- Email delivery logs: up to 2 years.
- Analytics data: according to our Google Analytics retention setting (no longer than 14 months for user-level data).
We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), admin tools are access-restricted, and we store hashed rather than raw IP addresses for requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email support@homeprofax.com or call (866) 776-3291. We will verify your request (usually by confirming the email or phone number you used) and respond within the time the law requires, and in any case within 45 days. Deleting a request does not undo information already delivered to a contractor you selected, but we will tell you which contractors received it so you can contact them.
Contractors can use the claim and correction process described above, or contact us about their profile.
State privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and port your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising and certain profiling, and to appeal our decision on your request. HomeProFax does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. To use your rights, contact us as described above. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
The Service is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will notify you as the law requires before it applies.
