The Sheridan contractor picture

We hold 42 contractor profiles at Sheridan addresses, so this is a short list compared with the Denver metro, based on state and city license records. Active licenses: 31 of 42 (74%). The statewide rate in our data is 54%.

Roofers, general contractors and HVAC firms aren't state-licensed in Colorado, so they show up only through city license lists. 27 Sheridan-based profiles appear on the lists we hold (Aurora (12), Arvada (9) and Thornton (6)), including 3 roofing licenses, 5 general contractor licenses and 3 HVAC/mechanical licenses. State licensing boards are the main source here: we count 17 electrical licenses (1 master, 5 journeymen, 4 residential wiremen) and 12 plumbing licenses (3 journeymen) in Sheridan.

Most entries are individual tradespeople (15), not companies. Only 2 active electrical contractor and 5 active plumbing contractor registrations are based here, and those are the businesses that can sell electrical or plumbing work to you directly. Board discipline: 1 Sheridan records have a DORA discipline flag (1 electrical). 1 belong to licenses that are still active, so a current license alone doesn't rule out past discipline. We matched 6 Sheridan companies to Colorado Secretary of State filings: 5 in good standing and 1 delinquent or dissolved. A dissolved entity can't back a warranty, so check the status before you sign.

HomeProFax profiles with a Sheridan address, built from DORA electrical and plumbing rosters, the Aurora, Arvada and Thornton contractor license lists, Colorado Secretary of State filings and Boulder/Denver open permit data. Counts as of Oct 24, 2026.

Shortcut: before you hire, ask any Sheridan contractor for their verified HomeProFax report. A contractor with a clean record can share it in a minute.

Licensing in Sheridan

Colorado licenses electricians and plumbers statewide through the DORA State Electrical Board and the DORA State Plumbing Board. General contractors, roofers and HVAC contractors are licensed, if at all, by the local city or county. We haven't verified Sheridan's local rules yet, so check with the building department before you hire. Most Sheridan ZIP codes in our data are in Arapahoe County, so the city or Arapahoe County building department is where to ask.

Storm season in Sheridan

Per the RMIIA, Colorado's Front Range gets the highest frequency of large hail in North America, with three or four storms a year causing at least $25 million in insured damage. Eight of the twelve costliest Colorado hailstorms on RMIIA's list were centered on the Denver metro, led by the May 8, 2017 storm at $2.3 billion in insured losses. If a roofer knocks on your door after hail, two state rules apply: you can rescind an insurance-funded roofing contract within 72 hours of a written denial (C.R.S. 6-22-104), and promising to cover your deductible is illegal (C.R.S. 6-22-105).
