The Firestone contractor picture

HomeProFax holds 203 contractor profiles with a Firestone business address, the 58th most of any Colorado city in our records, with ZIP 80504 home to the largest share. Active licenses: 153 of 203 (75%). The statewide rate in our data is 54%. Roofers, general contractors and HVAC firms aren't state-licensed in Colorado, so they show up only through city license lists. 44 Firestone-based profiles appear on the lists we hold (Aurora (19), Arvada (16) and Thornton (9)), including 5 roofing licenses, 5 general contractor licenses and 2 HVAC/mechanical licenses.

By trade, the DORA records give Firestone 130 electrical licenses (23 masters, 71 journeymen, 13 residential wiremen) plus 60 plumbing licenses (18 masters, 21 journeymen). For electrical or plumbing jobs, the business you sign with needs a contractor registration. Firestone has 16 active electrical and 9 active plumbing registrations; the other 151 individual licenses belong to workers, not firms. Board discipline: 3 Firestone records have a DORA discipline flag (2 electrical, 1 plumbing). 3 belong to licenses that are still active, so a current license alone doesn't rule out past discipline.

Experience runs deep: half of the licensed pros here were first licensed in 2010 or earlier, and 19 active licenses date from before 2000. 28 are new since 2024. The busiest ZIP codes are 80504 (159), 80520 (43), 81004 (1), and 3 ZIPs are represented in total.

34 permits from City of Boulder open data trace back to 5 contractors based in Firestone. The leaders are Imperial Power Systems LLC (14), Tri-Stone Electric, LLC (9), Ross Electrical Contracting LLC (6). The newest is dated 2026-10-19, and at least 10 were issued in the past year. Most are electrical permit (32), mechanical permit (1), demolition permit (1). These are jobs these firms did in Boulder or Denver. Firestone doesn't publish permits in a portal we cover yet, so no permits shown doesn't mean no permits pulled.

Licensing in Firestone

Colorado licenses electricians and plumbers statewide through the DORA State Electrical Board and the DORA State Plumbing Board. General contractors, roofers and HVAC contractors are licensed, if at all, by the local city or county. We haven't verified Firestone's local rules yet, so check with the building department before you hire. Most Firestone ZIP codes in our data are in Weld County, so the city or Weld County building department is where to ask.

Hail, roofs and your contract

Firestone sits on the Front Range, in the heart of "Hail Alley." The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association says the region usually sees three or four catastrophic hailstorms a year, and the damaging season runs from mid-April to mid-September. After a storm, Colorado law lets you cancel an insurance-paid roofing contract within 72 hours of a written claim denial (C.R.S. 6-22-104), and a roofer may not offer to pay or waive your deductible (C.R.S. 6-22-105).
