Conifer contractors at a glance

Conifer ranks 52nd among Colorado cities by contractor profiles in HomeProFax, with 210 businesses and licensed tradespeople listed at local addresses, 122 of them with a lapsed license. Active licenses: 87 of 210 (41%). The statewide rate in our data is 54%.

Because Colorado leaves roofing, general contracting and HVAC to cities, we also pull municipal license lists. Conifer firms hold 45 licenses on them (Aurora (22), Arvada (17) and Thornton (6)), among them 6 roofing licenses, 8 general contractor licenses and 4 HVAC/mechanical licenses. Electricians make up the biggest group, with 126 electrical licenses (23 masters, 52 journeymen, 9 residential wiremen) and 63 plumbing licenses (20 masters, 19 journeymen). Most entries are individual tradespeople (127), not companies. Only 12 active electrical contractor and 11 active plumbing contractor registrations are based here, and those are the businesses that can sell electrical or plumbing work to you directly.

Board discipline: 5 Conifer records have a DORA discipline flag (3 plumbing, 2 electrical). 1 belong to licenses that are still active, so a current license alone doesn't rule out past discipline. Experience runs deep: half of the licensed pros here were first licensed in 1995 or earlier, and 17 active licenses date from before 2000. 8 are new since 2024.

We matched 6 Conifer companies to Colorado Secretary of State filings: 2 in good standing and 4 delinquent or dissolved. A dissolved entity can't back a warranty, so check the status before you sign.

HomeProFax profiles with a Conifer address, built from DORA electrical and plumbing rosters, the Aurora, Arvada and Thornton contractor license lists, Colorado Secretary of State filings and Boulder/Denver open permit data. Counts as of Oct 24, 2026.

Rather than checking each agency yourself, ask the contractor for their verified HomeProFax report. It covers license, discipline, permits and business standing in one link.

Hail, roofs and your contract

Conifer sits on the Front Range, in the heart of "Hail Alley." The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association says the region usually sees three or four catastrophic hailstorms a year, and the damaging season runs from mid-April to mid-September. Eight of the twelve costliest Colorado hailstorms on RMIIA's list were centered on the Denver metro, led by the May 8, 2017 storm at $2.3 billion in insured losses. After a storm, Colorado law lets you cancel an insurance-paid roofing contract within 72 hours of a written claim denial (C.R.S. 6-22-104), and a roofer may not offer to pay or waive your deductible (C.R.S. 6-22-105).
