The Canon City contractor picture

407: that is how many contractor and tradesperson records in our Colorado database carry a Canon City address, enough for 30th place among the state's cities, 237 of them with a lapsed license. Only 40% have an active license today, against 54% statewide, so check the expiry date on every profile you open.

Municipal licensing fills the gap left by the state: Canon City contractors show up 7 times on the Aurora (4), Arvada (2) and Thornton (1) lists, with 2 roofing licenses, 1 general contractor license and 1 HVAC/mechanical license. The roster is mostly state-licensed trades: 242 electrical licenses (43 masters, 113 journeymen, 23 residential wiremen) and 160 plumbing licenses (58 masters, 67 journeymen), all from the DORA rosters.

Board discipline: 14 Canon City records have a DORA discipline flag (8 electrical, 6 plumbing). 5 belong to licenses that are still active, so a current license alone doesn't rule out past discipline. Most entries are individual tradespeople (314), not companies. Only 26 active electrical contractor and 16 active plumbing contractor registrations are based here, and those are the businesses that can sell electrical or plumbing work to you directly.

Experience runs deep: half of the licensed pros here were first licensed in 1998 or earlier, and 32 active licenses date from before 2000. 24 are new since 2024. The busiest ZIP codes are 81212 (380), 81215 (25), 81222 (2), and 3 ZIPs are represented in total.

HomeProFax profiles with a Canon City address, built from DORA electrical and plumbing rosters, the Aurora, Arvada and Thornton contractor license lists, Colorado Secretary of State filings and Boulder/Denver open permit data. Counts as of Oct 24, 2026.

Rather than checking each agency yourself, ask the contractor for their verified HomeProFax report. It covers license, discipline, permits and business standing in one link.
